BioWare – No Shepard in Mass Effect 4

As we all know next year marks the end for this Mass Effect trilogy (possibly referred to in the future as ‘the Shepard arc’) and today BioWare have announced that Mass Effect 3 will undoubtedly be the last game to feature Commander Shepard. BioWare’s Dr. Ray Muzyka had this to say on the subject…
“After this, Commander Shepard’s story is complete,” Mazuka told PC Gamer, adding that they were “correct” in suggesting that Shepard absolutely will not be present in any future games set in the Mass Effect universe.
With the vast expansive universe that BioWare have created for Mass Effect we can be 99% that another trilogy will most likely be in the works, possibly featuring some well-known faces. However I would be more than happy for an entirely new arc to start, set independently from the first trilogy. Regardless of what direction the series goes in I think Mass Effect (in one form or another) is here to stay for some time yet.
What are your thoughts on Mass Effect? The ending of a trilogy, characters or even the movie. Let us know in the comments section below.
