Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2 Confirmed
New retail version of flagship racer contains all updates released so far.
Some people have terrible internet. In the UK, I’d wager most people have terrible internet. Given digital distribution is a market that’s growing in an economy that’s not you’d expect a bit more emphasis on improving the situation beyond the BT/Virgin two horse race.
Anyway, enough ranting, the point is that for many gamers, updates can be an arduous process. In the case of Gran Turismo 5, which has received nothing short of a total overhaul since release, if you’re only now inserting the disc you may as well take a holiday.
Luckily, Gran Turismo 5 is getting a new “Spec 2″ edition with all the updates so far right there on the disc. Bizarrely, it also contains a download code for the Complete Pack DLC, which is like driving you to your house then kicking you out two streets away. Spec 2 also comes with a new cover, which is prettier than those nauseating yellow and grey (yellow and grey?!) platinum edition cases.
Sony said they have announced no plans to release Spec 2 in Europe yet, but considering Europe is by far GT5′s biggest market, you can all but guarantee it.
