This is one to shove up all those pipe smoking doo gooders who think video games are a load worth-less rubbish.
Grand Theft Auto, arguably one of the most controversial game series of all time has car jacked its way into the Victoria and Albert Museum’s exhibition - British Design 1948–2012: Innovation in the Modern Age. I say car jacked, that’s just my ‘creative’ writing, it’s actually earned it’s place.
The exhibition is a celebration UK contributions to the crazy world of UK art and design. It’s not just an exhibition of video games though, this spans the post war period of 1948 ‘Austerity Games’ to the upcoming London Olympics. That’s all well and good of course, but what about GTA? Well, Each of the Grand Theft Auto titles will be showcased for “innovation of living metropolises and open world gameplay, the exhibit features a commemorative video chronicling the history of the Grand Theft Auto series”
There is more apparently, but I’m just not privy to that kind of information, I guess you’ll just have to get yourself down to the V&A and find out what’s in store. The Exhibition runs until August 12. If you want some details, hit the link.
