Viva la 80s!!! Vektropolis has its finger on the pulse of nostalgia. Come see why.
Being in the line of work that we are we get some of the coolest things delivered to our digital front doors. The fine folks over at Dark Computer Entertainment reached out to me to give me a preview of their project in development entitled Vektropolis. The UK based studio has some serious talent ammunition inside their walls with Daniel Gallagher (Star Wars Arcade Game, 1984) spearheading this project. I have found myself watching this video incessantly and couldn’t be more excited for this project of sci-fi goodness.
Vektropolis is still a work in progress, but the game looks very promising and has definitely landed on my list of most anticipated games of this year. The Tron-esque graphical style and frenetic paced shooting looks to be a winning combination. The game’s inherent nostalgic design is worth noting as well and will definitely garner the interests of many. With a demo hopefully dropping in May we will have the chance to take it for a spin. You can follow Dark Computer Entertainment on Twitter @Vektropolis for the most up-to-date information about the game as well as their site.
[Update]
We were just given some additional information about the game that I wanted to share ASAP.
- The game is currently in development for PC with the potential for XBL and PSN releases.
- The game is on pace to be available this fall.
