The development team behind Medal of  Honor are to be renamed ‘Danger Close” apparently.

According to reports from Gamasutra the name change only applies to the development team behind the mega series, but not the studio as a whole which houses the Command & Conquer Team.

But what does it all mean? well the definition of Danger Close  is: In artillery and naval gunfire support, information in a call for fire to indicate that friendly forces are within 600 meters of the target.

“When an individual is calling in for danger close fire, it’s the decision to take a chance, rather than sit back and call in from afar,” said MoH producer Greg Goodrich.

“For our team, ‘danger close’ is about pushing the boundaries and taking chances on telling a story we felt needed to be told. It may be controversial, but we felt it needed to be told, and we’re telling it with respect and authenticity, to shine a light on these guys.”
